Jane Karla Rodrigues Gögel – Team Brasilien – Compound

My name is Jane Karla Rodrigues Gögel. After a successful time as Paralympic table tennis player, where I participated at two Paralympic Games, I changed to archery in January 2015. My goal was to qualify for the Paralympics in my country in Rio de Janeiro 2016. After intense training I won the Parapan Games in August and secured a spot for the Paralympics. At the following Para World Championships I reached the 8th place. In Rio just felt a little short for a medal and ended up in 5th place. Actually I´m Brasilian number 1 in both Paralympic and abled-bodied Womens Compound.

I´m also Brasilian Champion in abled-bodied Women’s Compound and Compound Mixed-Team and in Paralympic Women’s Compound and Compound Mixed-Team. I’m part of the Brasilian National Team for the World Cups. My actual personal records are 691 points, which is also a Brasilian National record for both abled-bodied and Paralympic Women’s Compound (50m, 72 arrows), 146 points (50m, 15 arrows, Brasilian Paralympic National Record) and 578 points (18m, 60 arrows, Brasilian Paralympic National Record). June 2017: Historic Brasilian Women’s Compound Record with 691 points – first ever Brasilian women to shoot over 690.
